To you
“He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less.”
C.S. Lewis
The uniqueness of Christianity is that Christians believe that God wants to have a personal relationship with each and every person on the earth.
He calls out to everyone everywhere and says “come unto me.” Jesus does not expect sacrifice or for us to do good works or even make pilgrimages.
Paul writing to the Ephesians said,
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8,9.
C. S. Lewis wrote
“The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.”
C.S. Lewis
The Apostle Paul writing to the Romans made it clear,
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8.
Christians believe that mankind does not have to reach up to God. We as mere mortals are not big enough for that.
Rather we as Christians believe God reached down to mankind and simply asks that we have faith in Him and his one and only Son who said,
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6
Do you believe?
Think about it.
