A Book of Mercy A Warning of Judgement

A book of Mercy a warning of Judgement

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men....
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
                                                                                              John 1:1-4,14
First of all as stated above Jesus was with God in the beginning, Jesus is God he was there at the beginning of the world. The world was made by Him. Not only that but God became flesh and dwelt among us in the form of Jesus Christ. He did this for two reasons,
First to show His mercy to mankind.
The bible first of all is a book of mercy.
Jesus said,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
                                                            Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus himself makes it clear that his primary job when on this earth was to save mankind, He said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
  John 3:16-17.
The second reason is to my mind to fully understand what it is to be man so as to more rightly judge us.
If Jesus had not come to this earth and experience all it was to be a man then we could potentially say to Him on judgement day you being all powerful do not know what it’s like to be tempted to under go trials, temptations and even loss of a loved one. Therefore you cannot judge us rightly.
Jesus in coming to this world however experienced all that it was to be a man up to and including dying for a crime he didn’t commit.
As a result he can judge us fairly for not only does he know what it is to be a man, because he lived as one. But also because he is God, He knows our very heart and why we do things.
God in creating mankind gave us all a freewill and offers us a choice Jesus saying,
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
                                                                                                                     John 3:18.
If those words of Jesus are not true you have nothing to fear. If they are you have a lot to fear. For your eternal resting place depends on who you think Jesus is.
Please think about it.
