Chasing after the wind
The writer of Ecclesiastes states,
“I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor.
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 2:10,11.
If all that there is to life is the hear and now then there is no meaning in life and the writer of Ecclesiastes is right, “everything is meaningless and chasing after the wind”
After all every material thing we gain in this life goes to someone else upon our death. Nothing in this world is ours forever.
The writer of Ecclesiastes however makes a wise statement, saying,
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13,14.
To those reading this who do not believe in God I would ask are you completely certain there is no God. If there is even the slightest doubt in your mind I would suggest you study the Bible. Study at least the New Testament and consider what it says.
You have nothing to loose by studying the Bible and everything to gain.
Please think about it.
