God shows Himself
C. S. Lewis said,
“He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others-not because He has favourites, but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition.” C. S. Lewis.
Most I find who don’t acknowledge God’s existence have made up their mind and nothing anyone says can change that belief.
God is always there waiting for us to seek Him. If we search for Him, God will show himself to us. However all too many people are not willing to seek him out.
It does, I admit, take a lot of faith to believe in God. Still God does not demand blind faith. All we have to do is look at the world around us. From the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy everything is in order. Something to my mind at least tells me there is a creator behind it all.
We can go further and look at our moral code. There is a basic moral code that all humans follow. Don’t kill, don’t steal, and so on.
I for one can’t believe prehistoric man simply convened a global conference and agreed that it was in the best interest of mankind that we have a law against killing. So to my mind God must have laid into mans heart and mind a basic moral law.
If there were not basic morals to live by it would be the survival of the fittest. With the most violent surviving. That’s if they survived at all.
I believe God has put into the very being of each and every person a basic set of morals.
I also believe that God has set in the heart of man the knowledge that He exists. However at the same time God gave man a freewill to believe in God or not.
I as a Christian believe that God went as far as He could by telling us he existed through the prophets and others mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible. Then as told in the New Testament God entered the world He created in the form of Jesus. Through Jesus He calls all people to himself.
The writer of Hebrews tells us.
“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” Hebrews 1:1-3
Each individual must decide for themselves if they believe in God. It is an act of faith on their behalf. Not something anyone can force upon them.
Thus I ask you. Do you truly believe in God?
Please think about it.
