“For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths.” Proverbs 5:21.
C. S. Lewis said,
“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain.
Whether you believe in God or not He still exists, and we all will stand before Him. The writer of Ecclesiastes states,
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” Ecclesiastes12:13,14.
I believe if you will God has covered all the bases. He is all powerful all knowing and all present. The Psalmist tells us,
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13-16.
Essentially here the Psalmist is saying God knows our very genetic code. Thus understands why we are like we are.
He also know what it is to be human because he in the form of His one and Only Son Jesus came to earth. The Gospel of John states,
“In the beginning was the Word,(Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men....
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ” John 1:1-4,14.
Jesus the creator of the world entered the world to experience all there was to be a man.
He experienced the day to day things like what it was to feel the sun on his face, the rain. The love of family and friends. He attended at least one wedding that we know of and funerals. He had followers who believed that he indeed was the Son of God the Saviour of mankind.
He had enemies who did all they could to have him killed. He was killed by order of the secular Roman governor who had found nothing worthy of death. Yet ordered him beaten and crucified.
And all this happened for our benefit. Think about it when we ultimately stand before God on judgement day. We cannot use the defence that he did not know what it was to be human. He did. He experience the best and worst in mankind.
Thus today he offers us a choice. Speaking of himself Jesus said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”. John 3:16-18.
So the choice is your. The apostle Paul writing to the Romans said,
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”Romans 10:9-13.
Please think about it.
