Paul's call

 Paul’s call

The apostle Paul wrote,

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:12-14.

Is the above a description of what you do? When people look at your life do they see compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and love?

Do you forgive others any wrongs they have done to you in the way the Lord did you? Do you forgive others unconditionally which is the way God forgave you?

Take a little time to pray and ask God to show you if you are truly doing what the apostle Paul is telling believers in Jesus to do.

Please think about it.

Sing, Praise, Proclaim, Declare

Sing, Praise, Proclaim, Declare

The Psalmist states,

"Sing to the LORD a new song;

sing to the LORD, all the earth.

Sing to the LORD,

praise his name;

proclaim his salvation day after day.

Declare his glory among the nations,

his marvellous deeds among all peoples."

                                                           Psalm 96:1-3

If you claim to be a true follower of Christ do you do as the psalmist says?

Do you...

Sing to the Lord?

Praise Gods name?

Proclaim Gods salvation?

Declare Gods glory?

Proclaim Gods marvellous deeds?

Please think about it.

What do people see in you?

What do people see in you?

In the book of Ephesians we read,

“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”

                                                                                                      Ephesians 4:1.

If you consider yourself a Christian a true follower of Christ Jesus, do you live a life worthy of Him?

When people see your life do they see the fruit of the spirit?

The fruit of the spirit being listed in the book of Galatians as,

love,

joy,

peace,

patience,

kindness,

goodness,

faithfulness,

gentleness...

self-control....

Galatians 5:22.

Do people see these fruits in your words and deeds?

Please think about it.

Something for Christians to do

  Something for Christians to do

The Psalmist writes,

“Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD

who minister by night in the house of the LORD.

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary

and praise the LORD.”

                               Psalm 134:1-3.

If you are a believer in Christ Jesus. A true Christian. Wherever you are today don’t just think about this do it.

Do not trust in Princes

  Do not trust princes

“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;

on that very day their plans come to nothing.”

                                                                 Psalm 146:3,4.

Over the years I’ve seen many preachers and evangelist go off the rails, fall away from Christ. Some of these men and women attracted thousands even tens of thousands of followers. Sadly too many of those followers were following the preacher and not God. As result when the preacher fell they fell away from God.

As believers in Christ Jesus we need to put our faith firmly in God. Not a pastor or evangelist.

Thus my question to you the reader; Is your faith firmly in God or in a pastor or evangelist?

Can you with the Psalmist say,

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses,

but we trust in the name of the LORD our God."

                                                                     Psalm 20:7.

Please think about it.

In front of anyone

  In front of anyone

The Psalmist writes,

“I will praise you, O LORD,

with all my heart;

I will tell of all your wonders.

I will be glad and rejoice in you;

I will sing praise to your name,

O Most High.”

                             Psalm 9:1,2.

Here is a simple request. Will you take time to Praise the Lord today? Will you sing Praises to Gods holy name?

I believe it is the duty of every Christian to tell the world about God. To sing the praises of God in front of anyone who will listen.

Please think about it.

Are you a good or a bad one?

Are you a good one or a bad one?

The apostle Paul writes,

"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us...."  2 Corinthians 5:20a

Are you a good ambassador or a bad one?

An ambassador represents a king, or a government of a nation. It is his or her job to represent the king or government correctly. An ambassador is a diplomat that promotes international relationships between governments. One of their jobs is to promote among other things cultural relationships between their government and other nations.

As one website noted. Ambassadors, “ keep a diplomatic demeanour, with the goal of keeping a positive relationship between the country that is hosting them and their home nation.”

As Christians. As believers in Christ Jesus we, as the apostle Paul said are Christ’s ambassadors. Therefore it is important we keep a positive relationship with those in the world around us.

Jesus and all he represents will be judged by what people see us doing. As Francis of Assisi put it,

“The deeds you do

may be the only sermon

some persons will hear today”

                              Francis of Assisi.

So what are your words and deeds telling the world around you? Are you a good ambassador or a bad one?

Please think about it

Loving and Respectful

Loving and Respectful
James the Half brother of Jesus said,
“Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom,
because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!” James 2:12,13.
One of my favourite quotes from the late American Evangelist Billy Graham is,
“It is the Holy Spirits Job to Convict,
God’s job to judge
 and my job to love,”
                          Billy Graham
As followers of Christ Jesus we are called to present the Love of Christ to the world around us. We have no right to judge. As Billy Graham said, “(it is) God’s job to Judge”. Our job is and to love to present the gospel message to anyone who will listen to us.
I firmly believe if we present the message of Christ in a loving, respectful way people will at the very least listen to us. Which is all we can expect.
Question. Do you present the love of Christ to the world around you in a loving respectful way?
Please think about it.
