A day will come

 A day will come

In the book of Psalms we read,

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10.

One day there will come a time when Christ will return to judge the world. At that time our choice to follow God and accept the salvation that comes through Christ Jesus will be over.

Billy Graham the late American evangelist said,

“The Bible says today is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation... But there will come a time when it will be too late for you”. Billy Graham.

The apostle Paul wrote,

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,  for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" Romans 10:9-13.

So the question becomes have you accepted the salvation that comes from God through Christ Jesus?

Please think about it.

Whoever believes

Whoever believes

The apostle John writes,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." 1John 1:9-10.

The apostle Paul writes.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  Romans 3:23,24.

When was the last time you confessed your sins directly to God? When was the last time you admitted to God that you fall short of what God wants for your life?

Paul also writes,

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,”1 Corinthians 15:3.

As Christians we believe that Christ died for our sins. The way we see it is God reached down to man. Jesus speaking of himself said,

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16,17.

God does not wont anyone to perish but they must believe in Christ Jesus. Jesus saying,

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son". John 3:18.

Do you believe this?

Please think about it.

Are you at peace?

 Do you have peace?

The Psalmist writes,

“You have searched me, Lord,

 and you know me.”

                                          Psalm 139:1

When we read the above portion of scripture. We can either read it and be at peace with the knowledge God understands why we are the way we are, and that we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

OR

we can read it and be afraid of God’s judgement. Knowing that we have not accepted Christ as our Saviour and that the good in our life may not outweigh the bad things we have done.

Christians do not believe that when you stand before God on the day of judgement that He will put the deeds of your life on a scale and if the good outweighs the bad you will get to heaven.

Quite the contrary. Christians believe that we cannot be good enough to stand before God. C. S. Lewis wrote,

"The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us."  C.S. Lewis.

The apostle Paul said,

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."  Romans 10:9-11.

The apostle Peter said,

"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Acts 2:21

The apostle John wrote,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." 1John 1:9-10.

So the question becomes; Do you have peace in your heart that you have had your sins forgiven and are on your way to heaven?

Please think about it.

Do you confess your sins?

 Do you confess your sins?

The Psalmist writes,

“I acknowledged my sin to you.”

                                                  Psalm 32:5

So my question to you dear reader is do you acknowledge your sins to God? When you realize you have fallen short of what God wants for your life, do you confess your sin to God?

The apostle John writes,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." 1John 1:9-10.

The apostle Paul reminds us that Jesus took our sins upon Him. Paul states,

"For our sake he (Jesus) made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:20.

The apostle Paul writing to the Romans states,

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  Romans 3:23,24.

Redemption for our sins happens when we confess our sins to God and accept the saving grace that comes through Chris Jesus.

So, do you confess your sins to God?

Please think about it.

The thief who got into heaven

The thief who got into heaven

"Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him (Jesus) to be executed.

When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left....

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!”

But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?

We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’”

Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Luke 23:32,33,39-43.

I heard this the other day. A man walks up to the gates of heaven and is asked, “Why are you hear?”

He replies, “The man on the cross told me to come”

Though it is just a story about the criminal who believed in Jesus getting into heaven. What he did while hanging on the cross is something we all are called to do.

First of all he believed Jesus was innocent and that Jesus was who He said He was the Son of God.

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom”

Second he confessed his sins saying,

“We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

In reply Jesus said,

"I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God Saviour of all who believe in Him?

Will you confess your sins directly to God right now. The apostle John writing,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”1John 1:9.

John also writing,

“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—  children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1:12,13.

The criminal on the cross that day with Jesus believed who Jesus was confessed his sins and was forgiven. Thus giving him entry into heaven.

Please think about it.
