Glory to God

Glory to God
The Psalmist writes,
"Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.”
                              Psalm 150.
Can you praise The Lord in all sincerity?
If so why not take a few moments now to praise God for all that he has done for you.

Sinners All

Sinners All
The apostle Paul wrote,
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
                                                                         Romans 3:23.
According to Christian belief every man and woman who has ever been born has sinned and falls short of God’s glory.
C. S. Lewis stated what Christians believe when it comes to an individuals relationship to God when he said,
“The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.”  C.S. Lewis.
That being said, the apostle John states,
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.” 1John 1:9-10
We as individuals must be honest with ourselves, and with God. Admitting to God that we are sinners. That we fall short of the ideal that he wants for our lives. That we make mistakes. That we sin.
Once we admit this we must ask God’s forgiveness. For when we do so John tells us, God,
“will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
The choice as to whether you as an individual believes this is entirely yours. God gives us all a freewill to do as we wish. He will not force himself on you.
Thus the choice dear reader is yours. Will you confess your sins and shortcomings to God today and accept God’s forgiveness or not?
The choice is yours.
Please think about it.

O LORD our Lord

O LORD our Lord
The Psalmist writes,
“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.”
                                                                Psalm 8:1.
I am a big fan of the Hubble space telescope. I love the images that it sends back to earth. Those images are to my mind spectacular. At the same time I like to look through a microscope at the incredibly small. Looking at a leaf you can see just how it works.
Science done right is an incredible thing. It can prove how the universe works. It can prove how the greatest nebula’s in the universe are linked to the smallest leaf, or insect here on Earth.
For me also it proves to my mind that God exists. Only God could have fine tuned the universe we live in so precisely a way that life as we know it can exist.
If I am wrong I have nothing to fear. If I am right however those who disagree with my point of view have a great deal to at the very least think about.
Please think about it.
