Of Flowers and God

 Of Flowers and God

“Flowers may beckon towards us,
but they speak toward heaven and God.”
 Henry Ward Beecher
Shown here are on the right a Rose as we normally see it. On the left the Rose under magnification.
What we see under magnification is no less beautiful than what we see normally.
However under magnification we can see how wonderfully it is made. Everything in the rose has a purpose and is in perfect order.
It’s the same with the entire universe. From the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxies all have purpose and order.  When I look at this I see a divine creator in it all.
The Psalmist tells us,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
Psalm 19:1.
I know there are people out there who say there is no God. The excuse I hear most often is “I can’t see or touch him. Therefore he doesn’t exist.”
That’s where faith comes in.
The way I see it you can either have faith there is no God. At which time you are placing your eternal resting place on the assumption you know all things and have been everywhere. Because unless you know all things and have been everywhere the thing you don’t know about just might be God. And the place you have never been might be the place God is.
And as far as I know no one living today has been beyond the grave.
On the other hand you can have faith in God and believe the words of the writer of Hebrews who said,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6
You can believe the word of the apostle Paul who wrote,
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—  not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9.
You can believe the words of Jesus who said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”. John 3:16-18.
The choice is yours. If Christians are wrong then you have nothing to fear and Christians have lived a good life.
If on the other hand Christians are right in their beliefs as I believe we are. Then you have a lot to at the very least think about.
       Please think about it.
