The Way

The Way
Thomas Aquinas said,
“If, then, you are looking for the way by which you should go, take Christ, because He Himself is the way.” Thomas Aquinas.
Jesus said,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
I as a Christian can testify that the words of Jesus are true.
I have gone through many things in my life. I have experienced many hard times as well as good times. Still through it all God has been there for me.
Billy Graham the American evangelist said of the Christian life,
“The Christian life is not a constant high.
I have my moments of deep discouragement.
I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say,
'O God, forgive me,' or 'Help me.'”
Billy Graham.
The key to a Christian life is the Christians always knows God is there for them no matter what the circumstances. Jesus is our hope.
The apostle Paul wrote,
“And hope does not disappoint us,
because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
whom he has given us.
You see, at just the right time,
when we were still powerless,
Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man,
though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:5-8.
  To quote Billy Graham again,
“God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, 'I love you.'”Billy Graham.
I know to the non-Christian this seems foolish the apostle Paul even said,
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,  but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,  but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.”1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Put simply we Christians believe getting to heaven is a matter of faith. The writer of Hebrews states,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6.
Faith is the key to what Christians believe. God knows those who have faith in something are the strongest of believers.
God also knows it can be very difficult to believe in something or someone you cannot see or touch. That I believe is why God asks for faith. Not because it is easy but because it is hard.
Please think about it.
