Are you?

  Are you?

In the book of Jeremiah we read,

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”                                                                                                                         Jeremiah 29:13

Someone has said,

Maybe the atheist cannot find God f

or the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman.”

                                                                         Author Unknown

I think such a statement has merit. Many atheist I’ve met are more determined to show people where the Bible mistakes are than looking at it with an open mind.

In order to find God you have to truly be seeking God with your whole heart. If you simply want to find fault or try to disprove Gods existence you will never find God.

Thus my question to you; Are you truly seeking God?

Please think about it.

The Choice

  The Choice

Isaiah the prophet wrote,

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tiered or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.” Isaiah 40:28.

Do you believe in God? Isaiah the prophet did. He tells us plainly that the Lord is everlasting “the creator of the ends of the earth.”

The Psalmist tells us,

"The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands."

                                                           Psalm 19:1.

I believe science proves God exists. Scientists tell us that everything from the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy are all in perfect alignment to allow life to exist as we know it.

John O’keefe states,

"We are, by astronomical standards, a pampered, cosseted, cherished group of creatures... If the Universe had not been made with the most exacting precision we could never have come into existence. It is my view that these circumstances indicate the universe was created for man to live in." John O'keefe.

Even Stephen Hawking one of the greatest scientific minds of our time said,

"It would be very difficult to explain why the universe should have begun in just this way, except as the act of a God who intended to create beings like us," Stephen Hawking.

Dr. Huge Ross an Astrophysicist said,

“The entity that brought the universe into existence must be the master of all space time matter and energy.

This entity must be powerful enough to make space time at will and to exquisitely fine tune an untold number of cosmic Characteristics. More than 200 (800 characteristics have since been discovered)  have been discovered so far. The probability of all these know parameters randomly coming together would be one chance in 10215 a probability so incredibly tiny that statistically speaking is impossible. This probability is becoming more remote with every scientific discovery.

Such a high degree of design demonstrates that this entity must be a personal being with an amazing creativity with wisdom power care and love to a degree far beyond human capabilities.

He has fine tuned the galaxy the solar system and planet earth so that spiritual life can be fused with physical life..... in this one small space for one brief span on our time line" Dr. Huge Ross

The choice as to whether God exists or not is however always up to you.

Please think about it.

No explanation necessary

  No explanation necessary.

Jesus said,

“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them." Mark 10:15,16.

Sometimes we just have to accept things as they are. Young children are the best example of this. They accept what they are told without question. They trust that what they are told is correct.

Those of us who believe the Bible believe what it states. When the Bible states,

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1. It’s a black and white issue with us.

We do not debate the existence of God. We do not debate that He created the heavens and the earth. We do not debate this because we have faith enough to believe an Almighty God capable of creating the heavens and the earth exists. Thus no other explanation is necessary.

The same is true many times for those who do not believe in God. No amount of explaining will convince them that God exists.

 Thomas Aquinas said,

“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” Thomas Aquinas.

Ultimately the question comes down to what you believe?

Please think about it.

Think about it

Think about it.
The prophet Isaiah writes,
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tiered or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28.
The Bible does not debate the existence of God. It was written to believers and believers do not debate his existence. Even though they cannot physically see God they have faith He exists.
The psalmist states,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                                  Psalm 19:1-3.
Science done right I believe will show the existence of God. We know the universe has a beginning. Not only that we know that everything in the universe from the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy are linked.
Even Stephen Hawking one of the greatest minds of our time stated,
“The universe and the laws of physics seem to have been specifically designed for us" Stephen Hawking.
Dr. Arno Penzias 1978 Nobel Prize winner in Physics wrote,
“Astronomy leads us to a unique event, a universe which was created out of nothing, one with a very delicate balance needed to provide exactly the conditions required to permit life and one which has an underlying (one might say ‘supernatural’) plan.” Dr. Arno Penzias.
Another Nobel prize winners in Physics William Philips, wrote,
“I believe in God more because of science than in spite of it”William Philips.
God is real, whether you want to believe in Him or not. As C. S. Lewis said,
"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell." C.S. Lewis.
When it comes to God however it is up to you. In making mankind God did not make robots. He created living beings with a freewill to choose to believe and do what they wish.
God will never force His will upon you.
Jesus however talking about himself gave us a warning stating,
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son". John 3:16-18.
Please think about it.

Does God Exist?

Does God exist?
The Psalmist writes,
“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
                                                               Psalm 14:1
The apostle Paul writes,
“For the message of the cross
is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved
it is the power of God.”
                                1 Corinthians 1:18.
An atheist will tell you there is no God. But an atheist does not know everything. After all if you know everything you are God or at least a demigod. Thus God would exist.
The Bible does not debate the existence of God. It was written to believers in God and believers need no proof of God’s existence.
There is however I believe proof of the existence of God all around us. The Psalmist stating,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                         Psalm 19:1-3
Albert Einstein said,
“Look deep into nature,
and then you will understand everything better.”
                                                            Albert Einstein.
I have no idea if Einstein believed in God or not. What I do know is he was right. If we look deep into nature we will understand everything better. Just because we cannot physically see God does not mean he does not exist.
Ben Zion Boker said,
“I have not seen the robin but I know he is there because I heard him singing through my window from the tree-top outside.
I have not seen God.  But I have looked at my child’s eyes, and have been overwhelmed by the miracle of unfolding life.
I have watched the trees bedeck themselves with new garbs of green in the spring, and have been stirred by the miracle of continual rebirth.
I have looked at the stars, and have been overcome by the miracle of the grandeur and majesty of the universe.
I know that God exists, because I have heard the song of His presence from all the tree-tops of creation. Ben Zion Bokser
Think of this From the smallest subatomic particle to greatest galaxies and everything in-between is in perfect order so that life as we know it exist on this planet. I personally cannot believe this all came about by chance.
That being said the decision as to whether you believe in God or not is a personal thing. You must decide whether or not to believe in Him or not.
Thus the question becomes, Do you believe in God?
Please think about it.

The Most Important Decision

The most important decision
The book of Genesis states,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
                                                                               Genesis 1:1.
It does not debate God’s existence. The book of Genesis and the Bible were written to believers in God and therefor debate about His existence was unnecessary.
The American evangelist Billy Graham stated,
“I can't prove it scientifically, that there's a God, but I believe.” Billy Graham.
Ben-Zion Bokser (July 4, 1907 – 1984) one of the major Conservative rabbis of the United States said this,
“I have not seen the robin but I know he is there because I heard him singing through my window from the tree-top outside.
I know that God exists, because I have heard the song of His presence from all the tree-tops of creation.” Ben Zion Bokser.
As for me personally I believe God exists because I see the perfection of the universe. From the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy everything is in perfect balance to provide life on this earth as we know it.
I cannot believe this happened purely by chance.
Ultimately however it is up to you the reader to decide for yourself whether God exists or not. That decision I believe is the most important decision you will make in your life. For that decision will ultimately determine your eternal resting place.
Please think about it.

Christian Principles #7 Trust in The Lord

Christian Principles #7 Trust in The Lord
The writer of Proverbs tells us,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
                                               Proverbs 3:5,6.
If you claim to be a believer in Christ Jesus do you trust God completely? Is your faith squarely in Him. The writer of Hebrew tells us,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
                                                           Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and
that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                                            Hebrews 11:6.
I have learned first hand that trusting in God really does work.
Yes there have been times when I thought things would not work out. Still I committed the situation to God and left it there. Ultimately the situation did work out, although sometimes not in the way I thought it would work out.
The apostle Paul said,
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28.
And Paul should know he went through a lot for his faith yet it all worked out in the end. Even though he was ultimately martyred for his faith he had the opportunity to share that faith throughout the Roman empire. He stood before everyone from rulers to slave and told them of his faith before leaving this earth for heaven.
So the question becomes, if you consider yourself a believer in Christ Jesus do you put your trust fully in God?
Please think about it.

You and God

You and God
The Psalmist writes,
“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
                                                              Psalm 14:1
The apostle Paul writes,
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18.
Blaise Pascal wrote,
“It is incomprehensible that God should exist, and it is incomprehensible that he should not exist.” Blaise Pascal.
Pascal also noted,
“In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don't.” Blaise Pascal.
So where do you stand? Do you believe in God or not?
I for one believe in God. I believe the Psalmist got it right when he said,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                             Psalm 19:1-3.
I look at the ordered universe we live in. Everything from the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy is in perfect harmony allowing life as we know it to exist. This to me, tells me there is a divine creator at work. I cannot believe our universe just assembled itself purely by chance.
Still I respect the view of those who would disagree with me.
That being said, I would ask the question to anyone who doesn’t believe there is a God, are you beyond a shadow of a doubt certain God does not exist?
I ask because I believe that what you believe about God will determine where you will spend eternity. Jesus speaking of himself said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”. John 3:16-18.
The choice however whether to believe in Jesus, whether to believe in God or not is entirely up to you the individual.
What I would ask if you do not believe in God, is with an open mind, you at least take some time to read at least the New Testament and see what it says.
Please think about it.

Faith in Jesus

Faith, and Jesus,
Here is something for you to think about with regards to faith and Jesus.
The writer of Hebrews states,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
                                             Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                                           Hebrews 11:6
St. Augustine said,
“Faith is to believe what you do not see;
the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.”
                                                                     Saint Augustine
Voltaire said,
Faith consists in believing
when it is beyond the power of reason to believe.
                                                                 Voltaire.
         Thomas Aquinas said,
To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary.
To one without faith, no explanation is possible.
                                                               Thomas Aquinas.
Blaise Pascal said of faith in God,
Belief is a wise wager.
Granted that faith cannot be proved,
what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false?
If you gain, you gain all;
if you lose, you lose nothing.
Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists.
                                                               Blaise Pascal.
Thus the question becomes, where is your faith.
Please think about it.

Does not Defend Itself

Does not Defend Itself
“The Bible does not defend itself or debate the existence of God. For the simple reason it was written to people who believe in God and accepted its message.”   Author unknown
I could write volumes is defence of the Bible’s authenticity. At the same time I could speak for hours giving proof of that God exists and Jesus is God incarnate but it would not convince some people.
Some people just want to believe what they want to believe. They believe there is no God it is that simple.
They will not accept the accuracy of the Bible and dismiss its truths as being bias.
As far as I’m concerned that is all well and good.
God when he created mankind gave him a freewill. That freewill gives each and every person the right to believe in God or not. God will not force anyone to believe in Him. It’s that simple.
God want’s our belief in Him to be an act of faith. The writer of Hebrews stating,
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”  Hebrews 11:6
Faith defined by the writer of Hebrews this way,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
 and
certain of what we do not see.”
                                         Hebrews 11:1.
I firmly believe God wants us to have faith in Him because people of faith are the strongest of followers no matter what or who they believe in.
The strongest atheist I know truly believe with all their heart that God doesn’t exist. Likewise the strongest believers in God are those who believe with their whole heart that God does exist.
As for what the Bible says about God. It’s simple. You either believe in God or you do not. There is no middle ground.
That being said from my point of view as a believer in God. A believer in Christ Jesus. What you believe about God has eternal consequences.
C. S. Lewis wrote,
“Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.” C. S. Lewis.
Thus the choice is yours.
Please think about it.

Do you believe in God?

Do you believe in God?
Blaise Pascal wrote
“It is incomprehensible that God should exist,
and it is incomprehensible that he should not exist.”
                                                                         Blaise Pascal
The Psalmist wrote,
“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
                                                              Psalm 14:1.
C. S. Lewis wrote,
“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship
Him than a lunatic can put out the sun
by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.”
C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain
The Apostle Paul wrote,
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,  but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,  but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.” 1 Corinthians 1:18-25.
Put simply God does things His way. Not the way man thinks he should do things. God asks all people everywhere to have faith in Him. The writer of Hebrews saying,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
                                         Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                                 Hebrews 11:6.
Not believing in God, being an Atheist is also an act of faith. To be an atheist you have to have postulated that for whatever reason there is no God. Even if you simply say I can’t see God therefore He doesn’t exist is an act of faith.
It is if you will what the writer of Hebrews said, “... being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
You are hoping there is no God and in your own mind are certain of it.
To my mind it’s like going out on a cloudy night looking up into the sky and saying, “I can’t see the stars. Therefor they don’t exist.
Just because we can’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Ben Zion Boskser wrote,
“I have not seen the robin but I know he is there because I heard him singing through my window from the tree-top outside.
I know that God exists, because I have heard the song of His presence from all the tree-tops of creation.”
         Ben Zion Bokser.
As for me I believe the Psalmist when he wrote,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
                                                         Psalm 19:1
For me the fact that we exist. That all of creation exists in the orderly way it does, proves there is a God. The choice however is up to you. Do you believe in God?
Please think about it

Thoughts on God

Thoughts on God
The writer of Hebrews states,
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.
The writer defining faith as,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope  for
and
certain of what we do not see.”
                                       Hebrews 11:1
Voltaire said,
“To believe in God is impossible
not to believe in Him is absurd.”
                                             Voltaire.
Blaise Pascal said,
“In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe
and enough shadows to blind those who don't.
                                                         Blaise Pascal.
C. S. Lewis states,
“He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others-not because He has favourites, but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition.”  C. S. Lewis.
You have to truly be looking for God in order to find Him.
In my life I have found when it comes to faith in God there are extremes. At on end of the spectrum there are those who truly believe in God, no matter what the situation. While at the other end there are those who no matter what you say to them, or show them, they do not believe God exists.
Thomas Aquinas put it this way,
“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” Thomas Aquinas.
As a believer in Christ Jesus I believe God exists and nothing can convince me otherwise.
At the same time I support the right of those who do not believe God exists to have their opinion. For I firmly believe God has given everyone a freewill to believe and do as they wish. That includes not believing God exists.
What I would ask of those who do not believe in God is, are you absolutely sure you are correct?
I as a believer in God, as a believer in Christ Jesus, have nothing to fear if God does not exist.
On the other hand if you do not believe in God and He does exist there is at the very least something to think about, if not fear.
The writer of Ecclesiastes states,
“I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor.
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 2:10,11.
Having said that and more the writer comes to this conclusion,
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole  duty  of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13,14.
Please think about it.

One Proof

One Proof
The book of Exodus records God as giving Moses what we refer to as the ten commandments. Exodus records,
"And God spoke all these words:
“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
“You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand  generations  of those who love me and keep my commandments.
“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work,  but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.
For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
“You shall not murder.
“You shall not commit adultery.
“You shall not steal.
“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:1-17.
When I look at the above laws I see the hand of God. The ten commandments tells us how we are to act toward God and toward our fellow man.
They are laws that allow for a peaceful and productive society.
No atheist group in the history of mankind has ever come up with anything comparable to the ten commandments.
We only have to look to Nazi Germany during and just before world war two to see what happens when society turns away from these divine principles.
The ten commandments are to my mind one of many proofs that God exists. That He is personally interested in the well being of each individual.
Please think about it.

God

God.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
                                                                                    Genesis 1:1.
Today in Canada is Boxing day. The day after Christians celebrate the day God sent His one and Only Son into the world to save the world from their sins.
I know there are many who do not believe as Christians believe. That is their right. I know there are many people around the world that do not believe in the existence of God. That is their right.
Just because someone does not believe in God, does not mean He dose not exist. As C. S. Lewis put it in his book The Problem of Pain,
“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain.
The Bible does not debate the existence of God. It was written to believers and therefore has no need to do so. It simply makes the statement,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
                                                                                    Genesis 1:1.
Abba Hillel Silver wrote,
“Faith in God is the strongest bulwark of a free society.  Human freedom began when men became conscious that over and above society and nature there is a God who created them...who fashioned them in His likeness, and that they are, therefore, possessed of intrinsic and independent significance and are endowed, as individuals, with original and irrevocable rights and authority.” Abba Hillel Silver.
What he says is true. It is because of the belief in God that we have the ten commandments. Basic rules for living not only for God, but living in harmony with ones fellow man. No Atheist group from ancient times to the present day has come up with a more complete set of rules.
Such rules are, I believe, written on the very hearts of all men from birth. Every person in the world whether they have read the Bible or not instinctively know what is right and what is wrong.
It is when men fail to recognize these basic laws that society starts to fall apart. The best example is the rise of the Nazis in Germany during the 1930's through to the end of world war two.
Hitler and his henchmen chose to live by their own rules. They legalized murder on an industrial scale. Killing in excess of twelve million in the gas chambers. They arrested people simply because they disagreed with them. They stole private property.
Their actions plunged the world into a war that would cost fifty-six million plus lives.
These men did not fear God, and when the fear of God is not there. When the fear that they will not be held accountable is taken away evil can run rampant.
The Psalmist tells us,
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;...” Psalm 111: 10a.
The writer of Ecclesiastes states,
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole  duty  of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”Ecclesiastes 12:13,14.
Ultimately however it is up to you the reader who must decide as to whether you believe in God or not.
Still I would ask you to consider this,
“Belief is a wise wager. Granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false? If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists.” Blaise Pascal.
So before you place your wager, consider reading at least the New Testament. Learn what the writers believed about God and Jesus Christ.
Please think about it.

Your Wager

Your Wager
The writer of Ecclesiastes notes,
“I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor.
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 2:10,11.
Atheist claim there is no God. If so what the writer of Ecclesiastes wrote above is true. Everything is meaningless a chasing after the wind.
That being said I am not an atheist and believe they are wrong, God does exist.
Peter John Kreeft Wrote of Atheism,
“Atheism treats people cheaply. Also, it robs death of meaning, and if death has no meaning, how can life ultimately have meaning? Atheism cheapens everything it touches,....”Peter John Kreeft ph.d
The way I see it Atheist make themselves into god. They make a blanket statement saying God does not exist. However in order to truly know God does not exist one must have been everywhere and know everything. An attribute of God.
Lets be practical here. No person living today knows everything. And no one living today has gone beyond the grave and come back to tell about it. Thus it is impossible for an Atheist to say beyond a reasonable doubt that God does not exist.
The consequences are eternal for both those who believe in God and those who don’t. If someone believes in God and it is ultimately found He does not exist. The Believer in God has nothing to fear in the light of eternity.
If on the other hand one does not believe God exist and he does exist, the non-believer has a great deal to worry about.
I like what Blaise Pascal wrote,
“Belief is a wise wager. Granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false? If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists.” Blaise Pascal
As for me personally I have placed my wager and gone all in that God exists. I believe the writer of Ecclesiastes who finally come to the conclusion,
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole  duty  of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 .
Please think about it.

On Finding God

On finding God
The Book of Deuteronomy tells us,
“But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.”  Deuteronomy 4:29.
C. S. Lewis states,
“He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others-not because He has favourites, but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition.”  C. S. Lewis.
God is always there willing to show himself to anyone who wishes to see him. Sadly the trouble with many people who say God does not exist is that they refuse to look. They have made up their minds and all the proof in the world will not convince them.
You have to be looking for God in order to find Him. Additionally finding God takes faith. And faith is something we all have even atheist.
Atheist have faith in their own knowledge.
The trouble with mortal man is that man can only truly know what is this side of the grave. No one living today has gone beyond the grave and come back to tell about it.
It takes faith to believe there is something beyond the grave. It’s easy to look at the world around you and say “I can’t see God. Therefore He doesn’t exist.”
The thing is God shows his existence in the world around us. The Psalmist tells us,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
                                            Psalm 19:1.
Everything in the universe is perfect order mathematically. Scientist may not have all the formulas yet but given good science and time I believe science will show there is a definite order in the universe. That everything from the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy is interlinked.
That the universe was designed in such away as for life to exist as we know it on this planet.
Until that point however we must have faith that there is a God who loves us. The writer of Hebrews telling us,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
                                     Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                                           Hebrews 11:6.

Something to consider

Something to consider
Job looked up into the heavens somewhere around the tenth century BC and noted,
“He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.”
                           Job 26:7
Thousands of years later the crew of Apollo 17 took the picture above proving Job was right.
Someone has said,
“The Earth is if you will a self sufficient organic extremely complex spacecraft. It is orbiting the sun at 250km/second. The sun is moving around the centre of the universe at 660km/second. All of this including its exact positioning in the universe make it possible for life to exist as we know it.”
That to me speaks to the fact there is a creator behind everything.
The book of Genesis states,
In the beginning God created
 the heavens and the earth.”
                             Genesis 1:1
The Psalmist writes,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
                                            Psalm 19:1.
Everything from the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy has its place in the Universe so that life can exist on this planet.
Scientist tell us that just a little closer to the sun or a little further away and life would not exist as we know it.
Someone once asked me if I believed if there is life on other planets. I replied I don’t know. However even if there were it would not affect my belief in God.
I believe God exists it’s that simple. If I am wrong I have nothing to fear. I have simply led a good life by following Him.
If on the other hand I am right those who do not believe in God have much to fear.
What do you believe?
Please think about it.

A Fundamental Truth

A Fundamental Truth.
The book of Genesis states,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.
This statement sums up the first two chapters of the book of Genesis. At the same time it sums up what both Jews and Christians believe. “God created the universe and everything in it.”
When the book of Genesis was written as with all Biblical books it was not intended as a book of science. It was written as a book of faith intended to be understood by all people from the most ancient of days to the present time.
Had the writer attempted to write the book in modern scientific terms the readers prior to our generation and many in our generation would not have understood it.
The book of Genesis simply states “God created the heavens and the earth” how it was created, be it through the big bang, through evolution over millions of years, or in six twenty-four hour days is unimportant.
The only important fact is “God created the heavens and the Earth.”
That being said, the Bible points out that there is evidence of God saying,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                         Psalm 19:1-3.
The way I see it is the perfection of the universe from the largest galaxy to the smallest subatomic particle speaks of a divine creator. For we live in a universe that is designed in such a way that it makes it possible for we as human beings to exist. I for one cannot believe this is simply by chance.
Thus the choice is up to you. Do you believe there is a God who created the universe and everything in it or not?
Please think about it.

A Faith Thing

A Faith Thing
The writer of Genesis states,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.

The Bible does not debate the existence of God. After all it was written to believers. The Bible simply says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1. It by default acknowledges the existence of God and leaves it up to the reader to decide for themselves.
Thomas Aquinas said,
“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” Thomas Aquinas.
I think what Thomas Aquinas said is very true in the day and age in which we live. Just a quick glance around the internet proves there are many people who believe in God without reservation. Likewise there are many who no matter what you say to them, they will not believe in God.
I believe in God because I cannot believe that the short span of years we live in this physical world is all there is. At the same time I do not have blind faith in God. I believe as the Psalmist states,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
Psalm 19:1-4
I believe in a world, in a universe, that was perfectly created to sustain life as we know it.
From the smallest subatomic particle to the most massive galaxy all work in harmony to created life as we know it.
I believe the writer of Hebrews who said,
“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” Hebrews 11:3.
This I admit is very much an act of faith on my part, which makes me no different than any scientist and particularly theoretical physicist. Men and women who postulate a theory from what they see around them, then believe by faith their science is correct.
Men and women such as Einstein, who had faith his theories were correct all his life, some of which were not proven until after his death.
Thus it is with God. If we look around we can see God’s handiwork within creation. We can because of the perfection of the universe and everything in it postulate accurately that God exists.
Ultimately however I admit it comes down to a faith. The writer of Hebrews states,
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.
Thus the question come down to do you the reader. Do you believe in God?
Please think about it.

Interesting Observations

Interesting Observations
The Psalmist wrote,
“The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
                                                          Psalm 14:1.
Billy Graham the great American Evangelist said,
“I can't prove it scientifically, that there's a God, but I believe.”
                                                                                        Billy Graham.
I’m with Billy Graham on this. We may not be able to sit down and make a scientific formula that proves the existence of God. That however doesn’t preclude his existence.
We can however see God’s handiwork. The Psalmist telling us,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
                                                                  Psalm 19:1.
I do not believe that the universe came into existence randomly that takes more faith than I have. I can however see the hand of God the creator in the universe.
Just take a look around from the largest galaxies to the smallest subatomic particle every thing is perfectly harmonized to create life as we know it. This to me suggests there is a creator.
I’m not hung up on whether God created the world in billions of years or in six days. Such a thing is immaterial to my faith.
The fact of the matter is I believe God exists and the more I see and observe the world around me the more I see His hand.
Furthermore I believe the God that created the heavens and the earth entered this world in the form of His one and only Son Jesus Christ. He did this in order to point mankind to heaven.
Yes I know this sounds at the very least foolishness but I believe it is true. The Apostle Paul wrote.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness
 to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved
it is the power of God.”
                                                                                   1 Corinthians 1:18.
I think all too often man want’s God to operate the way he thinks. God however does not do this. God works in his own ways.
It would be very easy for God to show himself and force everyone to worship Him but God does not want that. In creating mankind he made each individual unique, with a freewill to do as they wished even if it meant not believing in Him.
God requires the individual to have faith in him. The writer of Hebrews stating,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
 Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
 Hebrews 11:6.
God I believe has shown Himself to mankind in various ways, the creation of the universe being just one way, the Hebrew prophets was another, the Bible yet another, and even by entering the Universe he created in the form of his one and only Son Jesus Christ.
The writer of Hebrews telling us,
“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” Hebrews 1:1-3
This is what I and all Christians believe. The choice however is entirely up to you the reader.
Please think about it.
